Client Profiles to Develop Law Office Practice Development System for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0

Release Date: 12/7/05

Client Profiles to apply two decades of legal technology expertise to develop legal functionality for the Microsoft CRM application

ATLANTA, GA – December 7th, 2005 – Client Profiles, a leading provider of case and financial management applications and technology services for the legal profession, today announced the development of a legal industry-specific module for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0, the upcoming release of Microsoft Corp.’s customer relationship management software. Based on the long term success of its Client Profiles legal business application suite, Client Profiles will be using its industry leading experience to develop practice development and case management functionality for the Microsoft CRM application to create a powerful module for law firms to manage parties and client-related data.

Client Profiles, a Microsoft Gold Certified ISV and VAR Partner, as well as a Microsoft Mobility Partner, has established a separate “Microsoft Business Solutions Legal” development team to spearhead the initiative. Client Profiles will champion the development, marketing and support for the legal module of Microsoft CRM based on the company’s vast experience and knowledge within the legal market; a keen familiarity with front office applications developed for legal environments; and the integration and operation of its case and financial management software with a host of Microsoft products including the latest versions of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft Office OneNote, Microsoft Office InfoPath, Microsoft Office, Microsoft CRM, Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Windows Small Business Server. Client Profiles will be recruiting Microsoft MBS partners to establish a nationwide network of legal CRM implementation and support resources. Client Profiles will be working closely with this network of MBS partners to develop strategic “go-to-market” campaigns, to establish national exposure for the legal CRM product within the legal community, and to assist partners with sales and marketing initiatives to penetrate the legal marketplace with this new CRM offering.

“Client Profiles is ideally suited to deliver legal vertical functionality to our CRM solution,” said Patrick Fitzhenry, Managing Director of Professional Services Industry Strategy for the Microsoft Business Division at Microsoft. “Microsoft is extremely excited that Client Profiles has chosen Microsoft CRM as the platform on which to build the next generation of legal industry business applications.”

Microsoft CRM, in conjunction with the legal module to be developed by Client Profiles, delivers three distinct business benefits to the law office community:

  • Works the way law firms work: Microsoft Office has become the law office desktop standard for more and more law practices, so having a CRM solution that is tightly integrated with the tools that law firms are already relying on represents a high tech advantage. This approach allows lawyers and their staff to accumulate valuable business development information by capturing information through day-to-day workflow.

  • Offers the flexibility to fit all types of practices: Client Profiles’ 20+ years of experience in the development and deployment of law firm technology, as well as reliance on Microsoft’s technology architecture, ensures that firms will have the ability to configure and customize the new Microsoft CRM based on their firms’ specific requirements. This will empower firms to introduce technology that fits their practice areas, and deliver a higher level of customer service.

  • Microsoft architecture, as well as the native integration capabilities, ensures faster and easier deployments than are customary with stand-alone CRM systems. Law firm IT staffs will be able to simplify technology installations, and utilize common configuration and customization tools to further reduce resource constraints.

  • “Our core competence and expertise resides within the legal marketplace; we understand how firms utilize technology and how they use this technology to strengthen their business operations,” said Whit McIsaac, President and CEO, Client Profiles. “We welcome the opportunity to apply our knowledge to the Microsoft offerings, and provide the partner network with the legal-focused technology they need to be successful.”
